Trip through Utah:
Five years ago my wife was called to a
marketing meeting in Phoenix.  Since
we had just gotten married the boss
flew me out for the weekend.  On our
trip to the Grand Canyon we
discovered Sedona and fell in love.
We have visited Sedona 4 times in five
years.

Two trips ago we caught a cheaper
flight into Vegas and discovered The
Valley of Fire.  Now it was official, we
had red rock fever!  I began
researching the area and found that
Zion, Bryce, Arches and Canyonlands
all had very different types of
sandstone.  The trip was planed, a
whirlwind tour of Southern Utah.

Our last trip started in Phoenix, up
through Sedona, ending in our first
destination Moab.   The weeks activity
was hiking Negro Bill Canyon, rafting
between Arches and Canyonlands,
and hiking some of the tourist trails in
Arches.  It was our great regret that we
didn't spend more time in the Moab
area.

Next we were off to Bryce Canyon, We
saw the most amazing landscape the
planet has to offer on our trip down
routes 95/24/12.
Bryce was a huge disappointment due
to the massive construction and
controlled burn.  Amazing landscape
drenched in smoke from the burn and
tar.  I imagine it would be quite the
sight without the interference.  We
planned a ATV ride in Red Canyon but
when the company canceled our
reservations for the second time in one
day we decided it was best to spend
our money elsewhere.

Off to Zion for a late day hike down to
the Narrows and back.  We ended the
night with a quick drive to Vegas and a
show with Denis Miller.  Another day in
Vegas gave us the Blue Man Group
and Star Trek the Experience.

We ended up in Sedona for a final
round of hikes, Cathedral Rock and
Lost Canyon before we caught a
wicked cold knocking us out of our last
3 vacation days.

Next trip will probably be in the Four
Corners area, starting with Moab and a
day or two excursion to Canyon de
Chelle or Chaco Canyon.  We're
getting interested in the ruins out there.

So what is your story?
